DJ CHAO$ - Alter EGO
Artist Statement
Using my last name Chao, I created an alter ego DJ idol, DJ CHAO$. This screen printed image works as the cover of my alter ego’s first studio album.
This DJ creates music that is relatively unlistenable. Despite marketing herself as a DJ, all she can do is play the harmonica.
The first album, titled “I'm Not Listening” consists of garage band samples with harmonica features
but unfortunately... as the saying goes... there no place for the harmonica in a techno album
Despite the obvious and indisputable issues with the music created, DJ CHAO$ creates and markets herself, selling merch, screen printing t-shirts and living in oblivion of how confusing and way too loud her music is.
