This is a textural study I completed at the RISD pre-college program. At a second-hand art supply store, I stumbled across several red chunks of wax that reminded me of slabs of raw meat. I incorporated these surreal and odd objects and juxtaposed their waxy surface with the dried crusty skin of prunes. I filled most of the surface of the drawing with the wax meat and incorporated diagonals with the placement of the prunes and ripples in the wax.
